How to make TwentyEleven Theme wider!

Ok so I am working off of a Twenty Eleven Child theme so I won’t mess up the main file in the theme. Im understanding everything so far but if you guys have noticed there is a large space on both sides of the theme. I have made a picture as you can see I have hilighted the spaces and made arrows to show what i wanna do.
