How to make title appear in browser tabs

Hi everyone, I purchased a theme from studio press that runs on the genesis software, my theme allows me to add an image as a custom header. I made an image on photoshop for my site title as I didn’t like the appearance of just the plain text now whenever I have my website open with multiple tabs it is blank with just a dashed line. Also dashed lines appear after my site title now. Does anyone know how to fix this problem within the genesis software? It says not to edit the actual genesis code and when i go into my child theme in the heading section and add <title>mywebsite</title> as Ive seen on here, it doesnt work.
