• hello, I have installed the plugin approx. 3-4 weeks ago and I am not seeing any conversions in GA. Everything says zero. I have installed the plugin, entered my ID “UA-8083####-1” (I blocked out a few numbers here), I added “place and order” goal which shows I have met goal completions and “enabled ecommerce” in settings following the instructions provided in your article and still nothing. I know for sure there are orders coming in from Google AdWords, and yes I have linked these accounts.

What can I be doing wrong here? Can you assist?

Does this plugin track which products are purchased?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

hi there Gareth, I am still wondering about this. I still see zeros but I know sales are coming in from Google. Does your plugin add code to each product so that you can see the $ amount in conversions and which products are being purchased. This would be so helpful if I could get it working. It seems so simple in your plugin description butI am not seeing the results in the conversions in google.

    Hi Jessica

I’m sorry I haven’t got back to you. I can’t really think of any reason why this isn’t working, provided you’re confident you’ve got everything set up correctly. I can’t check it without making a purchase and seeing the confirmation page. Maybe you could contact me directly on info[at]catapultthemes.com and we can discuss? I can’t promise I’ll be able to help but I will try.

    thanks Gareth,
I am going to see what happens here for a while because I saw I had my own GA code inserted manually so I had duplicate GA code. I removed it today, I might have added it thinking I was supposed to after not see any dollar amounts in analytics… FYI my conversion action for “Purchase/order-recieved” says no recent conversions. Last conversion recorded Feb. 7. Perhaps it was me adding the duplicate script?

Also, when I look in look in the Chrome’s Google Tag Assistant, it tells me the code is not in the head tag and this can cause issues. Does your plugin NOT insert it into the head?

    Some more questions for you…

1 – Is the remarking code inserted with your plugin? Google Tag Assistant says “To validate please enter the feed ID” – I don’t know what to do here.
2 – Does your plugin add code to each product or products listed in checkout so that you can see the $ amount in conversions and which products are being purchased?
3 – Does this tie into Adwords at all? In Analytics, there is the conversions/ecommerce section and that ties into Adwords, does your plugin assist in gathering the data needed for this? I ask because I also installed “Google AdWords Conversion Tracking” – will this mess up your plugin?

    thank you for your time!

The code goes into the footer – perhaps that’s an issue, I don’t know. If you wanted to test this, you could edit the /inc/functions.php file and change both instances of wp_footer to wp_head. Test it and let me know how you get on.

    1. No – remarketing code isn’t added
    2. The plugin adds code for each item after checkout, including ID, name and price
    3. There’s no connection with AdWords

    Thanks.

OK I changed it to the head and the tag assistant shows a smile face now. ?? Maybe since it is best practice to have the script where google wants it, you should change it. Anyways, thanks for the feedback and I will see if I can get some results in my conversions then let you know.
