Hi there, i use a cover photo / cover picture for my articles. But the pictures are just visible on the main page. As soon as you open the article itself by clicking on the headline or to click on “more”, just the text is visible. Without picture. How can I put the title picure into the articles?
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hello!

Your website is hosted on wordpress.com, so you’ll be able to get support tailored to that platform specifically at https://en.forums.wordpress.com.

Your website theme is displaying the cover image (called featured image) on the homepage, but your theme does not display the featured image on the individual post pages. One solution would be to insert the image at the top of each of your articles.

Here’s a link that shows you how to add images to your posts.

    Hope this helps!

Cool, that helps a lot, thank you Melinda. I had to delete the cover image, otherwise the image will be seen two times on the homepage (when i put the picture first, because I want it above the text). But as I have just 12 articles so far, it is not that much work and looks so much more “professionell”. ??
Now I just have to take care of the size of the pictures…

Thanks so much for your help @melindahelt. ??

@outdooorschoko: If you post directly to the Themes forum on WordPress.com with future questions then we’ll be happy to help out from there:

I also wanted to note that while Penscratch doesn’t display featured images on individual posts, many themes in the WordPress.com theme repository do. If it’s important for your theme to display featured images on individual posts by default, you could consider switching.

Toujours, for example, is a nice minimal theme, similar to Penscratch, that does display featured images on individual posts. Twenty Fifteen is another you could consider. You could also use the filters at the top of the repository to narrow down a few other options:

If you’d like some further suggestions then feel free to post over on the WordPress.com Themes forum and we can help from there. ??
