    Hello!

I’ve been trying to make the sidebar “sticky”, so when you scroll down the post (and page and homepage), the sidebar doesn’t disappear, but “goes along” with the post. How can I do it?

At the moment this is how it looks like: https://caramelsun.com/

And I would like to achieve something like that: https://designyourlife.pl/wnetrza/balkon-w-bloku-jak-go-urzadzic/ ( the sidebar stays in the same place, there’s no white space when you get to the end of the post).

Any help will be very appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hey caramelsuncom !

ok there are many ways to achieve :

1- using a plugin like Sticky menu
I didn’t try it before so I can’t really say if it’s good or not

2- the other solution is using jQuery , I prefer not going into this 2nd solution unless the 1st one doesn’t work for you. This one requires some coding and playing with the theme files so better keep it as an alternative in case you don’t code

    Hi codeManiac!

Thanks for replying. I tried Sticky Menu, but it either doesn’t work for sidebar, or I don’t know how to use it ??

Any other ideas how can I make the sidebars sticky? Has anyone already succeeded in doing so?

    Thanks!

    Hi all,

So I managed to get it done.

This is how I achieved it:

    – install Q2W3 Fixed Widget (Sticky Widget) plugin and activate it

    – go to widgets and in sidebar widgets you have options to tick “fixed widget” box at the bottom. Tick all the widgets you want to be “sticky” on the sidebar and voila!

It wasn’t that hard after all:)
