How to make post decoration on homepage

  • Hi everyone!

    I am a beginner to WP. I am wanting my recent posts on my site’s home page to look like this site :

    melissaniu.com

    Her posts have a picture on top, date, and a summary of the post. with columns to that home page. How to do I do this? I have been trying to figure this out for a long time. Is this a plugin?

  • It is not a plugin. Theme just comes with this layout. If you want to do the same for your theme then you need to modify ( or create new ) theme’s files.

    it is correct that you do not need a plugin to change post layout.
    a few changes to theme files can make it work.

    there is a plugin that I use which helps control display if you prefer not to make coding changes to theme. the plugin is not free. learn about it to see if it meets your needs: https://conductorplugin.com/ there are a bunch of demo videos available.
