How to make picture stretch across the whole screen

    I’m trying desperately to make it look like this https://adsli.com/demo/valley/

    The problem I’m having is that I cannot get the pictures on the homepage to stretch from one side of the screen to the other and I cannot get rid of the space above the picture. I’m using the Savant theme if that helps.

    I’m pretty good with CSS and HTML but this is my first WP page and trying to figure out how to edit the theme to fit what I’m looking to do has been very difficult so far.
