How to make permalinks for pages only,, not posts.

  • Hi,

    I need any way to open a specific page by a link that have its name
    when i use permalinks options ,, it set permalinks to posts and pages together
    The title of posts always very long and i want to share it as short link have an id .
    I know that i can use short links too when use post name as permalinks but i need to make it the main link.

    please help !!

  • Even if posts have permalink, you can still access them through the non-permalink URL. For example, if a post has ID 14, you can always access it through https://www.yoursite.com/?p=14. To find out what the shortlink is, click on the button “Get Shortlink” in the post editing screen.

    Another option is to actually change the permalink. If your post is called “This Is A Post With A Very Long Title”, the default would probably be something like https://www.yoursite.com/this-is-post-with-very-long-title, but you can change this to whatever you want in the post editing screen (under the title, click “EDIT”), so you can easily set it to https://www.yoursite.com/post123 or whatever you like.
