How to make blog posts appear in different locations on the same page

I’m fairly new to the WP universe (been livin’ on planet drupal for awhile) and am wondering how you would go about making individual blog posts appear in different areas of a page — based perhaps on the post’s tags or categories.

For example, let’s say my website’s about food and I like to blog about appetizers, main courses, and desserts. I’d like all my blog posts to show up on the same page, but visually separated into “Appetizers”, “Main Courses”, and “Desserts” sections — three distinct blocks on one page. There is a fairly easy way to do this on drupal, and I’m hoping the same is true for WP.

Can you kindly give me a pointer in the right direction? I’d much appreciate it.
