how to make a thumbnail jpeg rectangle not square

  • i upload a square image and then crop it in the section where you can crop/scale etc. crop seems to be successful, and even tho i tell it to apply to all image sizes, what i get for thumbnail is 150×150 pixel center cut of image. i simply want a proportionally shrunk version of what i;ve cropped. the thumbnail comes thru correctly( ie, not a center section of the larger image) when i place it on my page–but only if i leave it as a square and dont crop. what am i doing wrong?

  • You can change thumbnails size in Settings >>>Media

    i tried that. the problem is that the same settings apply to all images, and each of mine are a different size. so if i set the size for 110×150, it will be perfect for one jpeg,but all wrong for another. any thoughts?
