How to make a "normal" home page?

I have a client that wants a website with a “normal” home page. What I mean is it shouldn’t have any blog posts or anything on it, but just the navigation at the top and a galley(see image). What is the best way of going about this? I can add a page and menu but it always shows the name of the page in huge letters+(as if it is a blog post) and I don’t want that.
