• I’m trying to make a new page which is called 2010, and I want the url of this page to also be 2010. But WordPress is basically saying this won’t work, because it changes the url to 2010-2.

Does anyone know how to get this to work? It’s got probably something to do with the archives, but I don’t have a clue what to do or what to change to get this to work.

  • usually when -2 is appended it means you have a page/post with the same name in the trash
emptying trash should allow it correctly

Yes, you would think that to be the case, but no, I’ve emptied the trash several times already, but it still isn’t working.

    hmmm…I’m at a loss
just tried it on my test site and it does as you say with any number for a title
    will investigate further

If a page could exist with that URL how would you then perform a year based query? (example.com/2008/ – example.com?year=2008)

The problem is that the name conflicts with numeric queries, year, month, day, paging and/or a combination of those..

Prefix the name with something, just not another number..

    ah…makes sense

But there’s no way to turn off the numeric queries?
