• I’ve been asked to build a web site that has a main landing page with two links, one to a fluids web site and the other to a coatings web site. basically two separate sites for one main business landing page. What’s the best way to handle this scenario?
    Multi site install?

  • Are you just creating a page or the sites as well?

For the page, open the editor and put the links to the two sites. Then set that page as your home page (if that’s what you meant by main landing page).

For the sites, if they need to share users or anything, you can use a multisite. Otherwise, just handle them separately.

You can do this landing page in flat HTML, why use WordPress for a single splash page?

I agree, but they want a photo rotator on it as well. I suppose I can create that using HTML5 code. I was thinking along the same lines, two different WP installs for each business group, a flat HTML 5 homepage with links to the home pages of each WP install. I just didn’t know if there were other ways to handle this within one WP install?
