How to make a fixed expanding menu and place it differently ?

    I have a question regarding expanding menus.

    And right now, I achieved to do that : https://puu.sh/j955S/0d1bb34e31.png but I can’t manage to make it look like what I want.
    My question is :
    How to make a menu that expands when you click and remains when you are on any of the subpages.
    Also, how can I put the submenu external to the main menu so this one doesn’t move.
    I just want the submenu to appear, and not to make the whole menu move. I don’t know if I’m clear about my question. I’ve been looking around the forum, and I couldn’t find anything answering my problem.
