How to link to PHP code?

  • How can I set things up so that when a user left-clicks on a graphic on one of my WordPress pages that some PHP code that I supply is run?

    Shortcodes was thought to be the solution but, apparently, the only way that the shortcode plugin can be run is via the text “[something]”.
