How to link to media file by default?

WP with blocks is okay, but can drive me crazy sometimes.

When I add an image, in the old WP the link to media settings was always set to the latest one used, in my case always Media File. How can I accomplish this for WP 5.x ?

Somehow, even after working with WP 5.x from the start, I almost always forget one or the other setting. Either the category, or the link to media file, and because of this also sometimes the SEO. The ‘old’ way was definitely faster and with a better overview of all settings.
