How to let visitors view past events

Hi, I am pretty happy with how events work, but I cannot figure out how to make past events visible to visitors, either on the events page or on an archive of past events. The options to customize the behavior of events suggests that past events are indeed archived, and I can view them in admin mode, but I’d like visitors to see past events.
If this cannot be done automatically, maybe I can create a new page for this, and somehow link it to past events?
