How to let the customer access additional product information

    Hi, I am building a WordPress site that sells teaching resource downloads (simple word documents and the odd pdf /png file). Have installed Easy Digital Downloads (free version), uploaded a product and set up variable pricing (i.e, you can buy a full resource pack or one or more of four individual booklets that make up the full pack). All working fine! The theme I am using is Astra. I have an image, a short paragraph of text (overview) the list of items with prices and checkboxes as well as the “Purchase” button visible on the product page. I would also very much like to have a tab where the customer can access more detailed information on each of the 4 individual booklets (a text description of about 200 words for each booklet) and, for example, another tab where the customer view reviews. There seems to be a lot of spare space on the product page, but not quite sure what the best way to do this would be.

    What I have in mind is something like this:

    It is the table towards the bottom of the page with the tabs for “Key Features”, “Important Information” etc that I am interested in creating. I am not even sure what you would call this feature (widget?).

    First of all, is this in fact possible with Easy Digital Downloads and my chosen theme? As I am a novice, would this be too difficult to achieve? If so, what would you recommend as an alternative? In short, what I want is the functionality for a customer to view a lot more information about the product without unduly cluttering up the product page that I described earlier in the post.

    From what you are describing there that looks like it would require custom code to build or perhaps it’s a feature that your theme might have.

    It might not be exactly what you are looking for but it could be just what you need.

    You could reach out to the Astra theme developers and see if it is possible to do this with the theme. I did a quick search and found one plugin that might be what you are looking for https://astraelementorusers.com/templates_showcase/3180/

    I am marking this topic as Resolved for now as the features you are looking for are not something that depends on the EDD plugin but other plugins or custom development work.
