• My users are designated as Editors, yet when logged in they have no access to Pages.

This is contrary to what is said here

“Editor – has access to all posts, pages, comments, categories, tags, and links.”

So, which is it? Access or no access?

The blog I need help with is https://bcatw.org

  • Take a look at this plugin

You should be looking here for more details.
Your assumption is correct, but the developer of the website has possibly changed the capabilities of the user roles.

    Thanks guys-

Evan I did install the User Role Editor and it doesn’t seem to work for me and the documentation is thin regarding how to create a new capability. Where are capability IDs found?

Little Big Thing, I saw that page and as it happens, I am the web developer. Where did I go wrong?

My workaround now is to get new users Admin permission for long enough to create their page. Just a little scary.

If you assign the role editor to a user, (s)he should be able to edit pages… it is WordPress out of the box.
Check whether changing and resetting capabilities helps. Does changing their role to let’s say author makes a difference in their capabilities? Create a user for yourself and try testing some stuff if you haven’t done yet already (maybe a plugin issue? try deactivating plugins one by one).

Sorry, no further suggestions, I don’t really understand what is going wrong…
