How to kill a running scan

  • Running the Wordfence extension on MainWP.

    The scan appears to be running but never ends and the log includes:
    QUOTE
    Scan Engine Error: Wordfence could not start a scan because the cron key does not match the saved key.
    UNQUOTE

    Changed the max_execution time to 15 seconds as per WF advice but how do I kill the running scan so that it can start again with the new setting?

    Click on Scan

    Under the blue button ‘Start wordfence Scan (top left corner) there is a gray text link (very small) ‘Click to kill the current scan’
