If you mean the categories the article belongs to: they should be broadcasted.

If you mean even the unselected categories, then why not create a temp post with all categories, broadcast it and then delete the child post?

Using this solution with a “all-categories-post” to bring our categories tree to the child sites, I ran into a strange issue: All of the categories were broadcasted (as I can see in post overview and/or within the post creation screen itself), but only a couple of them appear in the categories list.

That is, I got 16 categories broadcasted, but only 6 appear in the list (however, the count says “English (16)”?

    Set up:
    – WP 3.8.1
    – ThreeWP Broadcast 2.18 + Premium
    – WPML 3.1.4 with translation manager

I think WPML is the source of the problem, with its caching of categories and posts.

Mind sending me an e-mail so that I can be reminded to try and debug WPML to fix this? [email protected]

I’m working on a solution that can broadcast taxonomies, so one bypasses broadcasting posts just to get categories sent.

The Premium Pack now contains the “sync taxonomies” plugin that … well… syncs taxonomies. So you don’t have to broadcast a post just to get all of the taxonomies copied over.

Marking as solved just for the sake of housekeeping.
