How to integrate the uploader in a template (PHP)?

Hello folks,

does anybody know how to integrate the NextGEN Public Uploader into a template?

How does the PHP code look like to do it without the short code within the post’s/page’s content? Maybe even make the php code look for the gallery ID within a custom field. That would be awesome. ??
