• Hello,

I recently registered a new domain through my host and I wish to use WordPress for my blog. I installed WordPress through the Mojo Marketplace, however, their themes are not free. I wish to go to WordPress and locate a free theme. This is the instructions I was given from my host:
“You can download the free theme and then upload it to the path /myblog/wp-content/themes and then enable it via phpMyAdmin interface.”

I have no idea, I mean, NO IDEA what this means. I am not a coder. Is there a tutorial or can someone explain what this means and how to do it? Or is there a simpler way someone with no coding knowledge can access WordPress?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • To clarify, is your site up and running now with WordPress?

    Is Mojo Maketplace your host?

If your site is running now with WP and you want to add a free theme from WP, then log into the dashboard:

Appearance > Themes > Add New (button, upper left) > browse the ones presented or use one of the menu items to see others (Featured/Popular/Latest/Feature Filter) or use the Search themes … box to find one you may have seen in the WP themes repository.

and then enable it via phpMyAdmin interface.

Never heard of that one before! ??

Additionally, this is a great place to start:

    Hello 2ninerniner2,

No, WordPress is not up and running, it is only installed. My host is iPage. Mojo Marketplace is a site from WordPress that you can add plug-ins, themes, etc. I registered, and went through my host to the Mojo Marketplace only to install WP.

I already have one WordPress blog so I am familiar with how to search for a free theme, however, this is my first time going this route. With my first blog, I started it as a WordPress.com site, then I updated to a self-hosted www.remarpro.com site.

Mojo Marketplace is a site from WordPress

No, it is not. It has absolutely nothing to do with WordPress other than provide products and services that work with WP.

If you want a WP site to be installed on your iPage account you simply install WP on your account. Alternatively, you could look at their WP-specific hosting plans:

    me got a problem

i recently purchased a third party domain in google app for business and they got me an enom domain registrar.
i did attach at first to my blogger dashboard and now i wanna redirect it wordpress, i have change the host records; www’ to ‘www.remarpro.com’

i then reloaded my custom site “laudersonline.com” and was redirect to www.remarpro.com home page. i then downloaded the current wordpress zip file to my pc.

but there comes the question. i absolutely dont know where to go from here
