I’m running Workpress on an XAMPP local server. How do I install hotfix? I’ve run the Hotfix Install link and entered “localhost/wordpress/” as the WordPress URL but I get the following error:

Warning: file_get_contents(https://localhost/wordpress/) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found in /home/flatearth/domains/coveredwebservices.com/public_html/wp-plugin-install/index.php on line 37

My WordPress installation starts and runs fine using the URL: localhost/wordpress/

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Bill

UPDATE: It installed just fine manually. Maybe the auto-install just doesn’t work with a localhost.

Sorry, yeah, that tool doesn’t work with localhost. It connects to your blog to look for what directory WordPress is in.

Unfortunately the hotfix did not resolve the images not being displayed in Media Library issue, nor the WPEC issue.

I was hopeful that the other workaround was the unchecking of organizing folders in month, year but no go.

How do you know the hotfix was installed? I click the link and white page is displayed with the following text:

    Install hotfix on https://www.domainname.com/ ?

Could I manually upload the hotfix.php file? If so, which directory should it reside in?
