How to insert verification codes into the tag?

  • Hi,

    I know you must get a ton of these questions.. But I really really can’t figure out how to insert the verification codes of any sites, at all! We’re talking Google Analytics, TradeDoubler, Pinterest, everything. They all say I have to insert the codes in the <head> tag.

    I’ve tried for months now, I’ve tried everything. I’ve inserted the codes one every possible page, I’ve downloaded plugins to do it for me. And it’s still not working!

    What am I doing wrong? All the help articles are outdated and shows screenshots/menus, that looks nothing like anything I have on my Admin page.

  • There should be another option to download an html file and place in the root of your hosting by ftp.

    If not, you will have to modify the file header.php to add the codes, BUT if your theme gets updated your changes will be lost. You should create a child theme and make the changes in a duplicate of header.php.

    Once you create the child theme copy header.php and place it in your child theme folder. Open it with a text editor and add your codes before the closing /head tag
