How to insert posts in pages

I’d really like to be able to insert posts within a page. I’m well aware of the distinction between posts and pages, but this would really come in handy for the site I’m working on. The Codex entry on “pages” says this is possible and provides a link to Aral Balkan’s inline posts plugin. Problem: I can’t find this particular plug-in anywhere in www.remarpro.com’s Install Plugins feature and I don’t want to manually install this plug-in as it appears to be a few years old. Any advice on how I can accomplish this?
