• Whilst still eagerly waiting for a reply to my previous question about the “info” bar, I have to ask a question to which the answer is probably very simple.

    For some reason I can’t figure out how to insert a favicon. I just tried the traditional way with a little code snippet in header.php, but it seems that it’s not really possible to use the editor for anything. I’m probably missing something very obvious, but simple or not, I need help with it.

    Many thanks in advance!

    My apologies, but doesn’t that quite specifically describe the process which I alluded to above (and tried, with no success)?

    Did this “header.php” process work for you with this specific theme (Origin)? Because my problem is that the common process didn’t.

    The method is theme independent, it will work regardless of theme being used. Try posting what you got in header.php here so we can see what’s going on there.

    If you are positive that you did everything right, make sure you clear browser cache.

    Also, you can paste the favicon.ico in the site root and the browsers will use it just fine, this way you don’t need to touch theme file.

    How’s it going for you, Oliver? I’m having exactly the same problem with the origin theme. I tried all the different suggestions – they’re all pretty simple – including the Creating_a_Favicon method. No go. Did you manage to figure it out?

    I have also been struggling to find a way to change the favicon.
    The link given above provides useful information. However, it doesn’t work with the themr (or at least that’s what happens with me).

    I just added

    <link rel=”shortcut icon” href=”/favicon.ico” />
    to the header.php file… lol
