  • where do you want it?
    what site?
    need a bit more info

    Hiya,

Unless you are running your blog on a free WordPress theme, most of the themes nowadays comes with built-in Ad banner that you can configure it in the Options.

Which banner are you talking about? Are you trying to insert an image banner or an Ad banner? It also depends on which place you wish to place it.

You can either edit the .php file yourself or simply add the code in the ‘Text’ widget and drop it in the sidebar.

    Hope this helped ??

Ok, I am a noob to all this and I could use some help on this as well.

I bought my own domain and installed the WordPress theme through GoDaddy. I am trying to install some affiliate links. This is what I did:

    1) Clicked on Appearance<Widgets
2)Dropped and dragged the Text Widget into the East Sidebar
3)Inserted HTML code for the affiliate link
    4)Hit Save

It worked, HOWEVER, it is not in the position I wanted the link in but when I went back to the Widgets page and clicked the east sidebar…no code!

So how do you edit text you’ve previously entered into the sidebar?

And if there is an EASIER way to insert links or banners, I would appreciate that method as well.

OK, I just went and checked my site and now there ISN’T a link there…

So What is the BEST way to insert affiliate links into the WordPress theme?

    I thank you in advance

Thank you for the info….one more piece of info if you please.

If I wanted to place ads in the sidebar is this possible?

yes – with that widget by hand
if it’s adsense, there are plenty of plugins to do that
