how to include caption & description with slideshow?

When I updated WordPress to 4 none of my media ie pictures will come up. All I see is an X and no pic. I have called numerous times and nothing has worked. Any suggestions.

@jimtron – There is no method to include additional text in the display with the NextGEN Basic Slideshow, you might consider our NextGEN Pro Slideshow which does have options for adding captions to the display.
