After a logged out user is in the cart page and he clicks on checkout, it leads to a page saying that “you need to be logged in to checkout” which I indeed did setup to require in account. The issue here is that it should have the Register / log in form in this page already leading to checkout. The way it is now, the user needs to click on log in / register on header, then rememember to click on the cart. It is no a user friendly flow.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @garimpohome,

It seems that for some reason, your WooCommerce checkout page is not configured and being rendered properly.

Let’s make sure you’ve added the shorcode [woocommerce_checkout] to your checkout page. The WooCommerce checkout shortcode shows information such as shipping and payment options and allows returning customer login and new customer registration.

If you would like to read more about this, please feel free to visit the following link that will redirect you to our documentation: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-pages/

You’ll also want to adjust settings for guest checkout and account creation under WooCommerce > Settings > Accounts & Privacy.

Hi Mirk, the shortcode is correct in the correct page. It works perfectly in fact. The issue is about page redirect / UX as described.

    Hi there,

the shortcode is correct in the correct page. It works perfectly in fact. The issue is about page redirect / UX as described.

The page redirect is not added by default in WooCommerce so there must be some custom code or plugin that is triggering that behavior.

The best way to determine if there is a conflict is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem
    • If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Please make sure you have a backup in place of your site and database. You could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

I’d also suggest installing a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

      Thanks!

    Hi @garimpohome,

It’s been a while so we’re checking whether you were able to perform the above test and if anything came up.

We’ll be happy to be of further assistance.
    Thanks.
