Using the calendar with an ICS feed from a google calendar – every time it refreshes the plugin removes all changes made in the calendar, how can i stop this? I want ti to keep importing new events but to preserve them the way they are edited once imported.

i tried checking the box in the settings “On refresh, preserve previously imported events that are missing from the feed: ” and deleting then readding the feed. no luck.

i add a category in the calendar module, then when it refreshes it removes the categories completely!

  • Hi,

Our calendar recognizes events that are imported as being “owned” by someone else. Therefore, when the manual/automatic update occurs, it’s always going to overwrite the existing events. This ensures you are importing any updates, edited events or new events that have been added by the “owner.”

As a workaround you can add a feed, delete the feed, and select “keep the events” when prompted. Now the calendar will recognize these events as being “owned” by you. Unfortunately, this means that you will no longer receive updated events since you are no longer subscribed to the feed.

We have a “Preserve changes made to events retrieved from feeds” option with which it is possible to save the changes, but is only available in the hosted hub calendar.

Same thing just happened to me. It would be great (as a workaround) to have the feed also import event descriptions. Is that feature not available at this time?

    Hi rpetitto,

Feed should import the event description. Please provide the feed URL you are trying to import.
