How to Import posts from a text file???

  • Dear Experts,

    I have more than 10,000 posts to be posted into my wordpress site. I have it in a text file. I would be really thankful if somebody could point to a doc which explains how to import posts from a text file.

    I would also like to create categories at the same time or I may create them before hand and just alter the text file and modify my posts accordingly.

  • what sort of text file? is there any deliminating?

    you cant just import a plain ole text file.

    column values are enclosed in single quotes (“)
    columns separated with semi-colon (;) and
    each line contains a records

    Simplest: Figure out some way to convert it into an RSS feed format, then you can import it with the RSS importer.
