• I finally broke down and decided to update the evolve theme. Immediately prior to doing that I exported the settings expecting to be able to import them immediately after. What a mistake.

The new backup import/export interface doesn’t open up a window to select the file to be imported. It simply reads, “Input your backup file below and hit Import to restore your site options from a backup.” How am I supposed to “input” the downloaded .json file from my computer? My site is live and presently looks horrible with no quick remedy in sight. Please help.

Thankfully I had a staging site using the child theme with the right settings and I was able to copy & paste them to resolve the issue, but I’d still like to know how to upload the settings from the saved backup file on my computer. I tried opening the file in Notepad, then copying & pasting, but the results didn’t seem quite right.

    Hi,

Perhaps notepad does not “read” the file properly.

I suggest you use a code editor to open the file.
This is free and works well https://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/

    Thanks!
