• I am making changes to pages on a development site which is a complete copy of the live site.

I am able to export the changed pages on the development site to xml using the built-in WordPress exporter. How can I import the xml to the live site so that it replaces the corresponding pages on the live site (i.e I am not importing new pages).

I have seen old posts (a few years ago) on this topic in this forum, but have not seen any simple solution using the built-in WordPress importer.

    Appreciate any ideas.

  • Hi,

Importing a feed as post would be very difficult, unless you’re ok to trash all old posts.

I say that because, it’s quite easy to export all, much more difficult to import all without erasing the current posts.
If fluent with myslq or backup plugins, it will help your problem.

I add like James said, phpmydamin will help you a LOT in the process.
