How to implement Google Product Categories?

    Hi,

    the feed is running, the plugin is great. Only some products are put in the wrong category by Googles AI or not at all. How can I give the feed the google_product_category field if I want to override the findings by Google?

    As categories are set from within Google Merchant Center, please reach out to their support team here:

    You can also set up rules to override the categories selected by Google, but following these steps:

    I would have expected, I can do an extra custom field in woo and feed that into the plugin also. Is that not possible? I really have to learn how to excel whatever and export/import whatever. I am sorry to sound stupid, but we are not a big company. Just thought that plugin could help (better), I mean there are a lot of data fields already for size&stuff, I really cannot plug one or two more into that with some offered PHP? ??

    [product_type] and [google_product_category] is quite important, don’t you think? ?? I can not be the only one, needing that…

    Hi @heinzhubertka,

    Within the Google Listings and Ads plugin, there is no functionality that would allow you to specify a product type or category using a custom field. All products are automatically assigned a product category from Google’s continuously evolving product taxonomy.

    For category overrides Google is very specific about when they could be used within their Merchant Centre dashboard.
