How to ignore comments marked as spam by Akismet?

    Hi, it’s logging every new spam comment as “pending approval”, but most have already been marked as spam by Akismet. I’d really like to stop that, but still want the number of comment that are okay-ed by Akismet and/or approved by admins, to be counted and show up in Stream.

    Actually now that I think of it, I’d like for it to count those marked as spam as well, by Akismet, but track them as marked as spam, instead of pending approval. That way I can use Stream to provide reports to my clients about how many spam comments were blocked to their site. But as it is, that’s just not happening.

    This is a great idea and certainly something we have plans to do in the future by creating a Connector extension plugin for Stream that would interact with Akismet and check to see how it handles comment status before logging the actual comment activity.

    We did something similar already via our WooCommerce Connector, which allows Stream to log activity from actions done specifically by that plugin.

    There has been activity on this GitHub issue which basically does what @fjarret just mentioned, the integration with Akismet, and logging spam comments properly.

    Once code is approved, it’ll be merged with the next update for Stream.
