How To Host WordPress on a Separate Host Than Your Domain

  • Hello WP!

    I am attempting to install WordPress on a different host than my current domain is hosted. Because our existing site uses ASP and has a catalog of over 38,000 items, we cannot switch to a web host with PHP/MySQL. I am in a dilemma.

    Does anyone have experience installing WordPress on a separate host than the domain the blog will be used with?

    If I could do some forwarding or subdomain masking I would be happy. I have no experience, nor can I find any reference with this method.

    If anyone has any advice, direction, or ideas I would love to hear them.

    Researching this all day I have found that my solution might be with WordPress MU. I will open a discussion there and post what follows there, here.
