How to hide settings tab on non user profiles?

Hi. It’s strange that the Settings tab appears on any profile other than the logged in user’s. The content is blank of-course (unless you’re looking at your own profile) but the Settings tab shouldn’t be there at all when you’re looking at another user’s profile and not your own. Is there any way to hide the Settings tab when users are looking at profiles other than there own? Thanks.
