• Hi there !

I have create a blank template with only one block :

    The ”Post Content” block.

Then I would like to build a custom page with that template (starting from ”notting”)

Is there a way to hide the Add title when we are building a page ?

I mean, I don’t see it when I preview the page and I get it tell me the name of my current page. But why is it needed inside the Block editor, could not it just be show only in the page name list when it is empty

    Sincerely,

    Francis.

I have create a blank template with only one block :

You don’t need to take any action at all, and the resource provided by rohitmukati is not necessary.

The title field will appear in the post editor (because the title may be needed for other purposes). You may leave this blank, but I’ll recommend you fill in an appropriate title.

But if the template used to display the page contains the “Post Content” block alone as you say, then only the content will appear on the published page — there will be no title at all for this page (as long as you’re the correct template for the page).

On front side page show title by default so i recommended to display none

No, unless the homepage is not using the correct template specifically created for this.

If it’s using the correct template (with no title block in the template), there will be no title at all.

Remember, a PAGE (as opposed to a POST) will not be displayed on the homepage or anywhere else… unless it’s configured as the static homepage.

And if the page is configured as the static front page, as long as it’s using a template with no title block, no title will be displayed on the homepage at all.

That’s the beauty with block themes and full-site editing!

Thx to both of you ! That confirm what I was thinking ??

@gappiah If I want to create a custom page… Do you think it is better to :

-Create a custom template in the theme editor and assign that template to a page ?

    or

-Create a blank template with the ”post content” block and start from there in the page editor ?

In other words, is it ”normal” to build an entire custom page as a template or should I use the post content block and build with within a page.

    Thx !

    Francis.
