• I am trying to hide a few post from my blog. They have to be posts and not pages because of how I have my theme set up for now.

Anyone know how to do this?

    cheers,

  • Mark it private.

    Or change it to draft.

    Or password protect it.

for some reason when i change it to private i can still see it on my blog.
i have tried logging out of the account and it is still there.

    any ideas?

I believe only you can see a post marked private. members should not be able to see it unless they have admin privileges.

    I think:)

ok that works but it is not exactly what i was going for.

i want to be able to exclude a post from the blog. but still be able to get to it through another link. like how you can exclude pages from you navigation menu and still access them otherwise.

You can do that with pages, not with posts. And if you find yourself needing to do that with a post, perhaps you should convert it to a page and use the Exclude Pages From Navigation plugin to keep it off the menus.

Or put in a certain category and then exclude that category from the main page?

You can try the WP Hide Post plugin, it may do what you’re looking for.

I was not aware that you could exclude specific categories from showing on the main page – how can you do that or where do you change the setting from?
