• Hi I know that sounds silly, but I want to keep my website how it looks now (www.miss-brightside.com) but I want visitors to be able to comment on my entires on the front page etc… so i need the wordpress code that allows this, just without the actual theme layout!
Does this sound possible? I dont want to have to re-design a theme to ‘wordpress’ it, as my site is not really a blog, just a collection of articles. If anyone can offer me tips on what files from the wordpress download i need just to ensure I can have people comment on my entries, but NO header/archive list/ wordpress theme content etc.
Thank you so so much x x

  • Please start here: The_Loop . That should get you going.

So basically I’ll have to convert my website into a wordpress theme i.e. my header image would replace the wordpress header, and my sidebear would replace the wordpress sidebar thingy?
It’s so complicated but every site I see seems to understand it apart from me :s

I made a zen theme (my name for an empty theme), which is basically just, well, nothing. It looks like this:

    https://mybeausejour.com/wordpress

Then I just you php code on my real page to pull in the pieces I want. It looks like this:

    https://mybeausejour.com

I created my theme by taking the default, and removing almost everything except the key bits.

No, all you have to do is use the call to wp-blog-header and then call The_Loop where you want comments etc.

Oh thank you so much I’m pretty sure I know what to do now =) Thanks again, I’ll try and make sure it all goes to plan!

If you get stuck, post back, and good luck!
