How to have two websites on same domain

I have had iPower for a long time. I have a website with the domain name of TheThunderChild.com, hosted on iPower, which is written in html.

I just installed WordPress because I want to create another website, *separate* from The Thunder Child.

I installed it on the “top level” of my file manager.

When I go to the Admin log in page, it says that I’ve got the Twenty Ten with 6 Widgets template running, but when I go to view the 1st post (which was made by WordPress, apparently -I’ve made no posts using it), it shows me the Thunder Child home page. (https://thethund.ipower.com/?p=1)

I’m afraid to modify or do anything with the Dashboard. Will it impact my Thunder Child website?

I *think* the solution is to buy another domain name from iPower, and move all of the WordPress files into a folder titled with that domain name.

Will that work, or what should I do?
