I’m trying to do something which seems like it would be simple. Almost every WordPress blog I look at (including WordPress.com) does it. I want blog entries to be listed under /blog/, and tab-navigation pages to be referenced more directly as / (like /about or /contact).

I have WordPress installed in blog/, with the permalink structure set to “/%postname%”. So blog entries are referenced by “/blog/entry-title. All is well.

However, for pages linked from the tab-navigation I’d like to be able to reference the page with a permalink structure excluding the /blog/ — so “/entry-title”. I’ll use the pages as links in the tab-navigation area.

To do this I figure I’ll need to setup a redirect in .htaccess — that I can do. How though do I get the pages to list in WordPress with a different permalink structure to normal blog entries?
