    Hi,
I have an odd request. I am using paypal standard and also paypal express. I need to have the paypal standard enabled as I want the customer to be able to add a shipping address on the website but then only have the option to use paypal express to pay.

Both options appear in the Review Order section of the checkout. I have hidden the option to select paypal standard (using custom css) so that only the option for paypal express is available.
I need the radial button to be preset to being selected and not able to be unselected.
If its not selected then when the customer clicks ‘proceed to paypal’ then the option selected defaults to the paypal standard which I dont want.
So is there a way to lock on the paypal express option in the review order part of the checkout so that they then go to the paypal express page by default?

    Thanks
    R

I’m confused. You said the goal is to send users through the checkout page so that you can collect their shipping address, but then you want them to use Express for the payment instead of Standard..?? Do I understand that correctly?

If so, all you would need to do is disable Standard, leave Express enabled, but within Express disable the button on the product pages and cart page, and then set the checkout page settings to display Express Checkout in the regular list of gateways.

That would effectively force all users through the checkout page where they would enter their info, but the only option there would be Express Checkout.

Let me know if I’ve misunderstood you.

    Hi
You are fantastic! My problem has been that with paypal express enabled on the cart I then couldn’t get to the next page where the customer was asked for an optional shipping address so I was thinking that I would need to have paypal standard enabled too to get to the shipping page.
Removing paypal express from the cart has sorted it.

I’m a newbie to this plugin so just making it harder than it needs to be!

Thank you thank you thank you!

    Ok, glad that helped!

On that note, though, you’re sort of eliminating one of the primary benefits of Express Checkout, which is that people don’t have to fill out forms on a checkout page.

When the person signs in with PayPal they’ll choose their shipping address there (in most cases already attached to their account) and then that address is returned back to your site. So you will get a shipping address saved in your WooCommerce system even without using the checkout page.

Conversion rates on websites typically go up by about 25% when adding the Express Checkout button directly to product pages, so you’re missing out on that benefit as well.
