I’ve created 2 separate WordPress installations, each in their own directory: wordpress1 and wordpress2. I’ll call them example.com and xyz.com, respectively. The first site can be seen at example.com, which I setup to work without “wordpress1” in the URL by following these instructions…

However, the second site can only be seen at xyz.com/wordpress2. I don’t want wordpress2 in the URL. But if I followed these same instructions, and alter index.php at the root, then the first site would have to be accessed at example.com/wordpress1. How can I have both sites use their own domains and not have those sub-directories in the URL?

  • By the sounds of it, example.com is the primary domain for the hosting account and would “normally” be in the web root.

For xyz.com, just set it up as an Add on Domain.
