I am just starting to create my 3rd WordPress site. The first thing I want to get right is the header. Problem I have with my first 2 sites is having an 1150x100px header image scaled down on mobile devices which doesn’t look good, it’s way too small and not readable.

On the new site I am wanting to have a full screen width layout, which seems it would a header somewhere from 1366-1920 wide. This is even worse when scaled down on mobile. I am seeing other sites that display a different header image on mobile. The Genesis Responsive Header plugin seems to exactly solve this issue by giving the option to create header images specifically for mobile devices at 4 different sizes. But this plugin is only for Genesis themes. I do not see any other similar plugin available.

What to do, how is everyone dealing with this ?
