• Hi,

New to wordpress here; pretty much don’t know anything about coding at all, so if the answer to my problem involves any code manipulation, you will literally have to hold my hand. That being said, how do you change the posts page header?

I have a standard header, which I want to use for my front page, and I have a separate posts page. I want my front page to display the standard header and my posts page to display the featured image attached the that page. This seems like an obvious request to me, but whenever I set my posts page, it reverts to the standard header, and not the page’s featured image…

I hope I am being clear enough. FYI I am using the twenty-ten theme if that is at all relevant.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello b3nny_mac.

Most themes will have a particular way to see the themes. WordPress 3.x now allows you to have more than one template in your theme so that you can do exactly what you are suggesting. I activated TwentyTen on one of my demo sites and it doesn’t appear that TwentyTen theme uses that feature.

So, although WordPress is capable of doing it, the theme that you are using does not use that function.

You might want to check out the Genesis themes from Studiopress. Many (if not all) of those themes allow multi-template support. I use them all the time and love the framework, but they aren’t free.

I would be happy to give you a little more guidance if you need it. You can see what we are doing at https://www.upstartmediamarketing.com
