    3/21

I am a webmaster for a club and I building a new site for them. This was my experience with UM yesterday and today.
I imported the member list to the new site for testing using a csv importer plugin for users. The plugin put the users into the regular WP user buckets ok on the second pass. But it was slow because UM was busy sending out emails to the members a total of about 200 emails for a 100 member user base. Because I had to delete the list once and reinput.
There was NO notifications emails were being mailed until i checked my email and here comes 200 emails.
Explaining the emails to the members was not a super high experience.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    SUGGESTIONS
    1. Either put a notice on the Users panel to turn off emails before importing a list or control the users from a panel in UM.
    2. Put a select all button on the email tab then allow turn off and turn on in bulk. so we don’t have to go thru the emails one by one and turn them on or off.
    3. The same problem with emails was going on tonight while I was changing member statuses so there will be more explaining to do I am sure.

Sure would make operating UM a lot easier if some kind of warning about disabling emails could be done before status changes were done.

Other that this bump on the highway to website heaven, UM has done a good job. It will replace 3 plugins doing the job on the old system.

I had a similar experience with emails going to members when uploading from a CSV. I tried to disable the the emails within UM settings and r4eceived the following error:

    No Results Found
The page you requested could not be found. Try refining your search, or use the navigation above to locate the post.

    The link used follows:

    https://classiccarsofmichigan.com/wp-admin/admin.php page=um_options&tab=email&email=welcome_email

The admin.php file is in place (of course) but it does not seem to find the rest of the string.

How do I resolve this as I have additional members to add/modify and I don’t want emails going out again. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to the UM Settings Page, Use the Email tab> Click the settings wheel far right of page, uncheck the send email box.

Do this for all the form until they all have a RED x as listed on the Email tab.

I think this should stop any outbound email.

I have not tested this. With the forms unchecked re sending, I would think nothing will go out until the form is re-enabled for sending mail.
