    So, I am still confused about that and there are a lot of questions in my mind – could you please summarise once more:

    1. Will my custom sidebars still work after 5.7 when Gutenberg is installed? I am using theme Twenty Twelve.

    2. Could be adapted that custom sidebars created by Custom Sidebars Plugin via Gutenberg block-based widget screen, then?

    3. Do I have to recreate my sidebars with Gutenberg block-based widget screen?

    4. If I dont like using Gutenberg block-based widget screen:
    In which position/line of functions.php has this code add_filter( ‘gutenberg_use_widgets_block_editor’, ‘__return_false’, 100 ); to be added?

    5. How to add this code? by CSS customizer? Within dashboard without a crash? I am a bloody user only, not a WP specialist.

    6. What is this code for?: remove_theme_support( ‘widgets-block-editor’ );

    Thank you very much for your information and support!

    kind regards

    Hi,
    We can’t answer does question because v5.7 is not out yet and we don’t know what exactly will change.

    I have similar questions but I totally understand that you can’t answer most of them. However, question 1 seems to be one that can be answered. No sidebar lasts forever but if I don’t want to change anything, will the existing sidebar still work? Is anyone talking to WordPress about this? I have a lot of sidebars based on your plugin and it’s taking a big risk just to await the arrival of v5.7 and then find out that your site doesn’t work anymore.

    Hello:

    I am interested in this as well.

    At this time I have installed WordPress to a local dev laptop and installed the plugin for “WordPress Beta Tester.” At this time I do not see a widget that allows for the same functionality that this Custom Sidebar widget supplies.

    Also I do remember seeing a notice about how to retain the Custom Sidebar widget after the Gutenberg update. Can anyone point me to that notice again?

    Thank you,
    BC
