How to go live with wordpress website

Hello,

as I am new to building a website with wordpress I dont’t know how to do the following 2 things:
1. how to work on a preview with a website and see the changes, but not being live? Something like https://www.example.com/preview
Is there some manual or guide how to do this?

2. next step is how to go live with wordpress website? As I have wordpress hosting I thought it would be like one button click to go live but its not.

I have been searching for this issues but foung nothing..
